State governors elected under the umbrella of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have cried out that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has in it’s nine year administration, destroyed all the legacies and achievements the now opposition party strived to achieve in the 16 years it held sway in the country
Recall that the PDP ruled the country from the return of democracy in Nigeria in 1999 to 2015, when the then merger of opposition political party, the APC seized power , when it’s presidential candidate, Mohammadu Buhari was declared winner of the presidential election
The PDP governors therefore vowed to reclaim power from the APC in 2027, adding that Nigerians’ have seen the difference among the two political parties
The PDP berated the APC for misgovernance of the country, thereby bringing untold hardship on Nigerians, who are finding it pretty difficult to live in the midst of economic hardship.
Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, made the declaration in Jalingo, Taraba State, during a Gala Nite organised in honour of the Forum by the host governor.
The PDP Governor Forum chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to restoring Nigeria’s economic stability and security when it returned to power in 2027.
Bala Mohammed emphasised that the PDP is ready to tackle the country’s challenges, having been there before 2015, when it lost power at the centre, lamenting that the APC has destroyed what the PDP built in 16 years.
As Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Mohammed addressed his colleagues, highlighting the PDP’s vision for a better Nigeria and urging them to work with the same vision in their respective states in order to win the confidence of the citizens.
He emphasised the need for a unified approach to addressing the country’s economic and security woes, which were inflicted on the citizens by the bad governance of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The governor’s encouraging statement comes amidst growing concerns over Nigeria’s economic downturn and rising insecurity across the country, a development that has created instability among the citizens.
The Bauchi state governor, who was an aspirant in the last PDP presidential primary election, emphasized that the PDP has lofty programmes that have the tendency to make Nigeria indeed greater on the African continent, being the largest political party in the country.
He noted Nigerians have now seen the difference between the sixteen year administration of the PDP and the now mine years of the PDP, even as he prayed that the current hardship that is been faced by the nation is as a result of the bad administration policies of the ruling APC, which he assured that PDP governor will continue to take measures to alleviate the pains of citizens in their various states of control, despite the harsh economic police of the APC led government at the centr
