Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has firmly stated that his administration will not succumb to any form of blackmail, regardless of the power or influence behind it. Speaking during the 64th Nigerian Independence Day Anniversary parade in Port Harcourt, Fubara emphasized that his government remains focused on serving the people and delivering infrastructural development across the state. He reaffirmed his commitment to resisting any attempts at manipulation, asserting that his primary priority is the welfare of the citizens.
Addressing the ongoing political tension with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Fubara made it clear that no amount of “barefaced lies and blackmail” would deter his administration from staying true to the cause of justice and progress for Rivers State. He expressed gratitude to the people for their unwavering support and urged them to remain hopeful for a brighter future despite the nation’s current economic challenges.
