Kidnapped music band, owned by Omoba De Jombo Beats, a popular Nigerian Juju musician, and his crew, who were reportedly abducted while returning from an event in the Federal Capital Territory, have been safely released from their captors.
A video shared by musician Adegbodu Taiwo on Instagram captured their emotional return.
Earlier reports highlighted their alleged abduction in Abuja on Sunday, sparking concern. The released video, however, showcased the group alighting from a bus in the early hours of Thursday, marking their freedom.
Nigerians, expressing relief, flooded social media with reactions. Users like iam_nadinemay and eyesans_pride thanked and praised, while others expressed concerns about the situation in Abuja.
What Happened ?
Less than a week ago, through various social media posts, precisely on monday broke the news that Nigerian Juju musician, Omoba De Jombo Beats, and his band members were allegedly kidnapped on Sunday. The singer and his crew were returning from an event when the incident occurred.
A distress call from Nigerian musician Boyebest on Instagram heightened concerns. Boyebest’s post titled “A whole band of members kidnapped. Nigeria is messed up. I swear my prayers are with you guys. You will all come out alive” added to the growing worry.
The reported kidnapping took place after their live performance in Abuja over the weekend. Boyebest revealed that the abductors are demanding a N10 million ransom for their release.
Which was the genesis of the story, however latest reports didn’t include if any ransome was paid to the abductors and the artist, Omoba De Jombo Beats, remained unreachable for comments at the time of reporting.
