Boko Haram kills soldier, injures 4 others in battles – Army

Suspected Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) have injured an unnamed Army officer and three soldiers in separate fierce encounters with troops, in Adamawa and Borno states, respectively.

A soldier lost his life in one of the battles, even as many suspected terrorists were killed.

The Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, Col. Aminu Iliyasu, who made the disclosure in a statement Sunday, said an attempt by fighters to infiltrate Michika town in Adamawa State, was repelled by troops.

According to him, the BHTs, who rode in gun trucks and motorbikes to execute their plan, shot sporadically in different directions.

He further disclosed that, in the course of the operations, troops rescued a total of 465 hostage-victims, comprising 100 men, 154 women, 207 children, as well as four minors
