The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has reaffirmed the Edo State Government’s commitment to improving the transport sector. This assurance was given during a meeting with the Edo State Heavy Trucks Owners, Marketers, and Suppliers Association of Nigeria.
According to Mrs. Anani, the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration is passionate about establishing a business-friendly environment in the State.
‘I know that the Government of this day, under his Excellency, distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, is ready, he has a human face to do everything possible to make sure the people that live in this State, that do business in this State, he would create that enabling environment for everyone; citizen or not, as long as you reside here, he would do what he can to make sure that your business thrives.’
The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Sarahaisu Musa, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Anani and described the Association’s responsibilities.
‘It is with great honour and humility that I stand before you today on behalf of the Edo State Heavy Trucks Owners, Markers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria. Our association serves as a unifying body for truck owners, drivers, mechanics, managers, agents, scrap dealers, marketers, and suppliers across the State and beyond. We are committed to upholding professionalism, safety, and equitable business practices within the trucking industry, while also contributing to community development and national progress.’
Mr. Musa also highlighted the Association’s partnership with the Federal Ministry of Interior and 2TOC Solutions Limited, which led to the establishment of the Nigerian Fire Extinguisher Control Program. This initiative aims to train and empower 1,548 members as Fire Extinguisher Servicing Vendors across Nigeria.
Furthermore, Mr. Musa emphasized the urgent need for a designated trailer park in Ahor Community, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area. This, he explained, would provide job opportunities, enhance safety, and prevent accidents, among other benefits.
Mrs. Anani gave the assurance that the project was already being escalated to the Governor and assured that it would be looked into. The meeting ended with the presentation of a gift from the Association to Mrs. Anani.
