The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Frank Abumere Okiye has reacted to the police deployment to premises of the Edo House of Assembly, declaring that he is in charge of affairs alongside other legitimate members of the house.

He told an online medium, Olika Reporters Thursday on phone that the Governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu had visited the complex to assess the situation at the House of Assembly.

“I am fine and in the house at the moment, the governor and his deputy briefly to solidarize with us and I can tell you that we are in control. The police are not taking over the complex but are actually here to provide security,” he said.
