A Constitutional Lawyer, Human Rights Activist and Pro-Democracy Campaigner, Chief Mike Ozekhome, has called on the National Chairman of the All Peoples Congress and his erstwhile godson Edo state Governor Godwin Obaseki to sheath their swords and embrace peace.
Speaking in Abuja recently, he said that Edo State needed peace to develop, adding that the two leaders should consider the interests of Edo people and stop beating the drums of war.
“I believe that the disagreement between Oshiomole and Obaseki should be seen as quarrel between two brothers. Edo State cannot develop without peace.
“I am appealing to the two leaders to stop listening to those that did not wish Edo people well”.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said that in the absence of peace, there can never be any meaningful develop, adding that those behind this crisis should be seen as enemies of Edo state.
He called on all peace-loving people of the state to intervene in order to avoid the breakdown of law and order.
“Am aware that there have been several attempts to settle the rift between them, and I will continue to pray for God’s intervention,” he said.
