A former National Chairman Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) and the Director General National Taskforce to Combat Illegal Importation of Small Arms, Ammunitions, Light Weapons, Chemical Weapons and Pipelines Vandaism (NATFORCE), Chief Osita Okereke, has warned Nigerians against peddling rumors that are capable of inciting the people against the government.

Chief Okereke who gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, yesterday, spoke against the backdrop of the ongoing rumors by some Nigerians including the former Chairman of INEC, Professor Jega Attairu that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has a Server.

He further called on the operatives of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) to do their work by arresting all that may want to cause division and disharmony in the country through such rumors.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on all Nigerians especially the elites to be very careful of their comments on this matter of INEC Server, if there was a Server while did successive leaderships of the electoral body not transmit results electronically to the points where they were announced?”
