The Lagos State Government has commenced the distribution of free yuletide rice and garri to residents across the state, a gesture aimed at providing succor and ensuring a joyous festive season for Lagosians.
The distribution, which is taking place at the Lagos Television premises in Agidingbi, Ikeja, has drawn a massive crowd from various parts of the state.
The initiative is part of the government’s social responsibility and commitment to easing the economic burden on residents.
Beneficiaries of the program expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his thoughtfulness and dedication to the welfare of Lagosians.
“This is such a relief during these tough times,” said Mrs. Funke Adebayo, one of the recipients. “I am thankful to the Governor and his administration for considering the plight of the people, especially during this festive season.”
Another beneficiary, Mr. Chukwuemeka Obi, echoed similar sentiments. “This initiative shows that the government cares about the people. It’s not just about policies but actions that touch lives directly,” he said.
The Lagos State Government reiterated its commitment to supporting its residents through various initiatives, particularly during critical periods like the festive season.
