ROTIMI AKEREDOLU WINS ONDO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION, RETURNED FOR SECOND TERM

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has returned Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the Saturday, October 10thgovernorship election in the state.

Akeredolu won his reelection with 286,135votes while his closest challenger polled 193,348 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said Akeredolu won in 15 of the 18 local government areas of the state while his closest rival, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in three local government areas.

Akeredolu’s estranged deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi did not win in any of the local government areas but placed third position in the keenly contested race
