Villagers kill 3 suspected kidnappers in Katsina

Villagers have killed three suspected kidnappers in Dallawar Mahauta village, Dandume local government area of Katsina after a foiled kidnap attempt.

Daily Trust gathered that the kidnappers, numbering about 20, stormed the town on motorbikes yesterday purportedly to kidnap one businessman, Alhaji Abdurahman Dallawar Mahauta.

Eye witnesses said, the kidnappers who were shooting sporadically, could not locate the target and decided to settle for his son.

As the shooting subsided, the villagers later mobilised and attacked the bandits. They killed three while one of the villagers identified as Yushau was also killed and two others injured.

The corpses of the kidnappers were later taken away by the police to Dandume divisional police Headquarters and later moved to Funtua.

When contacted the spokesman of the police command SP Gambo Isah said a statement will be issued on the matter.
